1. Can I attach my custom cloth over my existing grill cloth? We do not recomend doing this, our product is meant to be a replacement grill cloth. Adding another layer may create issues with your speakers ability to move air and function properly. |
| 2.
Can I use this grill cloth on a Bass cabinet? Yes, we use two different types of woven mesh cloth, the larger weave if for bass cabinets. Please specify with your order if you are going to use this for a bass cabinet. There is no cost difference between the two mesh weaves. Click here to see the difference. |
| 3.
Does my background color have to be black? No, the cloth starts out white and colors are added from there. You can leave the background white or make it any color, we have the capability to create a full color photo on this material if you like. |
| 3.
Will the colors flake or scratch off? Not likely. The ink starts out as liquid and penetrate the mesh and cure into the material. This eliminates the flaking issue that might be seen with a paint or silkscreened design. |
| 4.
How do I install my new custom grill cloth? Now that's the million dollar question :-) It can be as easy as four screws that hold the grill frame in (like some Randall 4x12 cabinets) or as hard as disassembling the bulk of the cabinet (like some Marshall 4x12 cabinets or combo amps, as shown below). The main thing is to take your time to figure out just how to access your grill cloth properly. |
| 5.
What tools will I need to do the changeover? Some basic tools you will need are, a screw driver, or electric drill with a screw driver bit, a pair of pliers to remove the old staples and a staple gun to attach the new grill cloth. |
6. What do I need to measure, what is the "inset area"? Here's a link to a photo showing the area we need you to measure. This is the inset area of the cabinet, inside the actual cabinet edge. We take care of the over print and extra cloth needed to install the cloth properly. |
| A - Grill cloth is stretched around the speaker mount board and stapled into place. |
| B - Mount board typically comes out through the back of the cabinet so the handles will need to be removed as well. |
| C - Wiring can usually stay attached to the speakers and removed at the 1/4" jack on the back panel. |
